Error while installing a MacOS

Post by Paul Pritsis » Fri Oct 21, 2016 9:40 am

While trying to install a fresh OS via USB or CD, you get an error saying that "this version can't be verified" etc.

It turns out that the dmg/app file has a digital signature has both a start and expiry date attached to it. For example, Yosemite was released in 2014 and it's now 2016, the certificate has probably expired.

Easy to fix.

1) Boot from the installed USB
2) Open the Terminal and change the date in the following format: MMDDMMSSYY. eg. 9:30am, 20th of October 2014 would be written as:
DATE 1020093014 (the press enter)
3) Exit the Terminal
4) Click Install OS

This worked for me after many frustrating hours! Good luck.
